I have no idea if this is true, but I read somewhere else that she auditioned because her mom loves American Idol and she thought it would be nice for her to get to watch her on the show if she made it.  I'm going to pretend it's true because I think it's a sweet story.

That scene between Crosby and Julia really was lovely.  For some reason, I love that he called her "buddy" when he first came out to check on her.  Just a little detail that seemed genuine between siblings

A student with a cell phone called 911 on me and the teacher (I was the classroom aide) once.  Fortunately, the local police department was pretty familiar with our program/kids so now, years later it's kind of funny.  Still, flashbacks!

I haven't really warmed up to Malcolm the way most around here have so I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.  I don't dislike him exactly - I wouldn't be upset if he won - but I don't know, something about him doesn't quite work for me.  And actually, I'd say the same for Denise.  I like her and respect her but don't

I'm a fan of both shows!  So there's at least two of us.

I've been back and forth on Mike as a Survivor player, but I do like him.  Somewhere this past week Jonathan described him as an adorable puppy, and that seems pretty fitting.  I thought his excitement at his son getting to be on Survivor and exclaiming, "THAT'S PROBST!" was sweet.  I'm glad his kiddo got to stick

Yeah, I'm with @avclub-a1967e6de4ca99fb2635d94b99453928:disqus .  As much as it's appealing to think of Denise and Malcolm going all the way, especially considering the wreck of a tribe they came from, I think they'll turn on each other as soon as they need to.  I also don't think the one who ends up with a vote

I have no problem with Sarah and Mark breaking up.  I love the chemistry between Sarah and Hank.  I like Jason Ritter a lot, but I've never really felt them as a couple.  But I really, really wish the show found some way to break them up independent of Hank.  There are certainly other ways they could have dealt with

He's Ovechkin when you need Cam Neely.  That doesn't quite work because you know, Ovechkin's not terrible.  But sometimes you need a Cam Neely.  I'm not familiar enough with basketball to know if that comparison quite works though.

Yeah, I'd totally buy that Abi going on and on about the reward was just her being unable to read the room.  I mean, she did seem genuinely excited.  Jonathan got into a little bit of trouble with that back on Cook Islands after he got a pizza (?) in the auction.  Even Yul was annoyed.  I don't think Jonathan was

Oh, Jonathan.  Why?  Why?!  Just say yes and figure it out later.  Don't put yourself on the outs.  Seriously bummed out.  That one bit ruined my night.

Boston Rob has also said a couple of times that in his first season, he wasn't taking the idea of winning as seriously as he did in his repeat performances.  He described himself as a bit of a kid, just screwing around.  The differences in editing for him could have just been a difference in him.  I think with Abi,
