I work at a boarding school and there is a devastating stomach bug going around. I'm hoping to avoid it because it manifests itself mostly on the…er…back end.

I used the Netty-Pot on the suggestion of a friend. It was one of the more horrifying sensations I've ever experienced, but it worked like a charm!
I agree with all this, but I think the shows are so different in tone, execution, and purpose that the thematic connections are only a small part of the show's "DNA." A lot of these themes are common human tropes that we can find all the way back in Greek myth and throughout dramatic history in different genres.
hmmm. your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
"Them's fightin prefixes" made me spit coffee. Well done sir.
"What fresh hell is this" has instantly been added to my phrase bank. I'm going to say it at least once in the meeting i'm going in to.
They also decide at some point to add a healthy does of debaucherous nymphette to her character. That is fun, even if we rarely get to see the goods.

this is such a great point - did you notice how nary a second thought is given to kidnapping and exposing the bajoran doctor to the virus in Babel?
Oh you mean like Naked Now and Angel One did?
I tend to think that's the point, though. I don't care if one prefers TNG or TOS or DS9 or whatever, but jesus, from a technical standpoint, can we all get on board with the fact that season 1 of DS9 is clearly better written, acted, lit, filmed, etc?
Didn't you ever read "The Most Dangerous Game" in middle school?

umm…Tapestry?
Yes! That's bugged me for 15 years now! I cant get that look out of my mind!
I'm hoping Morn 2012 is the new gimmick commenter and he is devising something mouthy, longwinded, lascivious, and hilarious, as he was always hinted to be.
we got upwards of 2500 one week (the inner light?) but I think it was shortly after the Disqus migration and many of those were double posts.
"Lick me til i shine." Simply amazing. And I totally would after the hours of mirth you've brought, Sirtis. Adieu!
Yeah, @avclub-86a9ac7667ec45a86614223897b4f765:disqus . A couple weeks ago I got a little (lot) tipsy (shithammered) and watched a weird film with pointy eared Romans in space and a robot who found his little brother and then died?? "Enemy?"
1. Picard's interrogation scene in The Drumhead, paired with his conversation with Worf after.
