I certainly hope Frakes makes an appearance when we get to Tom Riker's episode.

I don't see the humor in militant leftism. Wouldn't it be kind of a one note horn as a gimmick?
All Star Trek (excepting the Abrams, I guess) is niche. TNG certainly was more successful in nibbling away at the mainstream audience, but it wasn't pulling down Cheers ratings or anything.
this gives me heavy boots.
Which is odd because the novel actually has a lot of really disturbing and uncomfortable imagery (aside from Dresden and 9/11). I imagine they will edit out the part where Oskar makes out with a grown woman.
yeah fair point, Alurin. I shoulda said Rome in the _early_ 3nd century, or the USSR in the 70s…both were at the height of their power and conventional wisdom made it seem like it would be that way for a long time.
didnt they actually work some of this into the show? There were a bunch of figurines in one episode that played a role; and once or twice didnt he wear some sort of tribal vest or something?
oh crap alurin. you're right. I meant skin jobs.
Nah - I like Alexander Siddig as the snobby continental intellectual who cant stop reminding us of the political allegories of DS9, the fact that he was in Syriana, and all the more important things we are supposed to care about.
Colm Meany in the guise of his character in Under Seige? Done.
Disqus sucks and spies on you with more zeal than the tal shiar, is what's with it.
Cattivo, you mean MArk 4000s?
I believe this was the plot of a star trek novel…
Beat me to it, Richelieu. You damn right.
this is probably dabbling a bit too much in existentialist philosophy, but isn't the above description pretty apt for all of us?
Whatever gimmick commenters get involved in the game (and I agree with JJ that it needs to be quality over quantity) I hope that Leeta's ample bosom plays a major role.
that's a lot smaller than the womp rats i used to bullseye from my T-16 back home, Buckaroo.
I have 256 channels. You're telling me there is something better than the simpsons on 153 of them?
If they were all on the same sitcom, I'd watch the hell out of that. I imagine it as an Entourage/Friends hybrid about middle aged D list actors living together in Hollywood while they try to reinvent their careers.
i dreamed this dream too, which made me love Wheaton even more even though there was no evidence that it was true.
