concur.  we probably would have felt about him like we feel about Spock.  Nimoy never hammed it up - at least in the films - and yet he was able to radiate intense emotion.

the romance angle would have been better if they wrapped it up with Arwen dying on Cerin Amroth, alone, having lived without Aragorn for 3000 years.  Just like the book.  woof.
