I dunno, I'm a fan of both Brand and Heidecker, but I think Heidecker just sounds like a sneering prick when he takes swipes at Brand. I don't know if it's some kind of Kaufmanesque meta-joke or whatever, but even if that's the case it doesn't scan for me, just seems childish and dumb.

An appreciation of Ozu I think would have helped Sam Adams appreciate My Neighbors the Yamadas as well, which is a beautiful film, unjustly panned in this list.

wow, that hipsterrunoff article was THE WORST

One of my worst childhood memories: missing the Far Side TV special. I absolutely adored the shit out of the Far Side as a kid, had all the Far Side books, would only buy Far Side greeting cards for family and friends, it was my absolute favorite. I couldn't have been more excited for the TV special, I daydreamed

in Deadwood it's heavily implied that Francis Wolcott had some incest in his background as well

Numberwang is just a pale imitation of Feelyat. KITH FTW!

"Specifically, his grave!"

"Hey, didn't Andy Hummel die this year? Let's take a shit on a grave!"

on which article did keith post and explain the difference between GTGs and primers? i've been wondering about the seeming ambiguity and obviously missed his explanation.

The Borg Identity

To me The Getaway honestly felt like the sum of its parts. Obviously not as much depth as The Wild Bunch or Alfredo Garcia but it's immaculately filmed and consistently entertaining and compelling. I can't think of a better action movie.

mashed potatoes. no gravy.
