the first coupla times I saw the old 97's was in the late 90's and the audience was mostly dudes my age rockin' out and all that. The last time was post-Fight Songs and suddenly there were all the young ladies in the audience and they knew all the words to "19" and "Rollerskate Skinny." So, like, it's hard to blame…

The early albums- Wreck your life, Hitchhike to Rhome and Too Far To Care- did get that live vibe across, but I agree that it's been a while since they've recorded any urgency. I really hope this is as good a record as I've been hearing it is. I'll take a B record from these guys any day.
