Although, I have to say, despite the fact that I share the point of view of this article, I find it kind of hilarious that it was posted on the same site that publishes, and was written by a writer who participates frequently in, HateSong.

I guess I just see a difference between the two. Someone saying, "YAY I AM EXCITED AND LIKE THIS THING" is much different than them saying, "YOU ARE STUPID FOR NOT LIKING THIS THING." I am in no way in support of the latter. Like, if someone wants to post, "I don't like sports," great! When it becomes, "I am somehow

Well, yes. As I've said elsewhere, here, I absolutely oppose public financing for stadiums. I think it's ridiculous. But I also think the argument that you can't hold that opinion while still enjoying aspects of the sports experience is problematic. EVERY form of entertainment has aspects to it that are negative -

I try. And I do community work for the advancement of the causes I believe in, none of which are sports. But I feel like doing that and also enjoying watching Game 7 of the NBA Finals aren't mutually exclusive.

But the point is, you're opting into the method of distribution that's leading to you being "bombarded." No one's forcing you to visit Twitter or Facebook at that point, or read your feed, which is full of things people have used their own personal platform to publish. There are lots of other things to do if reading

Oooookay. You've made this argument all up and down the comments. I don't remember personally billing you for anything, nor voting for public financing, nor in any way advocating for it. I mean, sure, I guess you could say that, by following the games, I'm endorsing the people who *are* making those decisions…but

"Sports is a good thing. There are a few bad things about sports though"

This, this, and exactly this.

In the time you spent typing and submitting this comment, you were not thinking about or working toward the advancement of social and political justice. Nice work.

Forget all this socio-economic defense of people enjoying sports. It's not necessary. This comic sums it up perfectly:

Yes, sorry, we should all spend every minute of every day contemplating the problems of the world, and never enjoy ourselves or celebrate anything.

Ah, yes, unlike all those *needed* franchises.

IT'S ABOUT ETHICS IN GAMING JOURNALISM…oh, wait, wrong story. Sorry.

I had a weird experience with this record. I was having a decent enough time with it, thinking it was good-but-not-great…then, I got to "The Ballad of the Costa Concordia," and mind = blown. And then I went back and listened to the rest of the record, and it was like that song had unlocked something for me, because

Independent films and theater, mostly, but yeah.

Man, did this show go down the drain in Season 2. Even the action scenes…I mean, I'm a fight choreographer/stunt coordinator, so I'm a little picky about this stuff, but there was absolutely nothing inspiring about any of the "Daredevil/Elektra/Stick/some combination thereof vs. X amount of ninjas" fights that

I argue constantly that Rent is not a rock musical. Playing something with electric guitars doesn't automatically make it rock music. Rent is basically a pop musical with some distortion thrown in to attempt to give it an edge. Nothing in it even comes close to qualifying as "grunge."

A friend of mine and I have a theory that the release date for Snowden will continue to be pushed back because Oliver Stone is hoping for Edward Snowden to be arrested or assassinated so that he has an ending for the film. As it is, we're stuck with "And then, he lived in Russia for a while."

This show actually made me tired of ninjas. And I love ninjas. But after the first few appearances this season, I started dreading when they'd show up. The fight choreography in their scenes is so monotonous. The action that was, in the early going, one of the most interesting parts of the show, becomes just downright

Oasis? (What's the Story) Morning Glory is a kick-ass record, and I don't even have any kids.
