I had thought they were several floors up. If I'm right, it probably would be a little tricky to find them. But still insane to just declare them lost without even looking.

It's nuts that Jessica didn't jump out the window after the pills the
second Simpson was subdued. The vial might've landed in a tree or a
patch of grass (or garbage) and be intact. Even if it broke, a pill
might've landed somewhere conspicuous. It's worth a check. They can call
the ambulance while they're doing it. As…
I had some problems with the logistics in that scene. Simpson puts Jessica through a wall, and then struggles to break down a flimsy wooden door? Combined with the frustrating moment with the blue pills, it made that whole scene seem really lazy.
I agree that this episode was the time to escalate. But I think the problem was that this show was so good at drawing out tension and hinting at things that its attempts to go all-out couldn't help but pale in comparison. It's like the X-Files syndrome, but less dramatic.
I don't think he's going out of his mind. I think he's motivated by an agenda that has yet to be revealed, related to the super-soldier (Capt. America?) people and whatever their purpose is.
Wait, so he was in the running for Will Graham? I thought someone on an earlier episode saying he was almost cast as Hannibal.
As an old school Doctor Who fan who really wasn't into his version of the Doctor, I'm getting a real kick out of actually enjoying David Tennant. He's a good actor, and my problem with his performance on Doctor Who was more about the direction Davies wanted to take the show and the character than anything I would…
I wouldn't call it heavy-handed. There are a shocking number of guys around who have no clue that this a thing women have to deal with. I think women sometimes don't realize just how invisible this sort of sexism (catcalling, etc.) can be to men because guys who engage in it will refrain if there's another guy around.…
I called it too. It's more process of elimination. Once they'd focused on the surveillance question for a certain amount of time, it became clear that the stalker would be revealed as a known character. Otherwise there's no real payoff to the mystery. Once you start asking which known character it is, Malcolm jumps…
This is TV, after all.
The far briefer version of that scene in the Rankin-Bass Hobbit was superior in every way. Those Goblins were actually fucking terrifying, and their song was much better. It's really embarrassing that an hour and a half cartoon that had to pare down every sequence to the bare bones time-wise still manages to beat this…
Upvoted for 'portmanteau'
I'm about as ignorant as anyone here. Never heard of Jessica Jones or
Killgrave before. Luke Cage was just a name I'd heard in superhero
conversations. Didn't know he was black (which I mention only because it seems he was defined by that in less enlightened times) and I learned he was indestructible the moment that…
After barely making it through the first two films, I ended up watching the fanedit posted on this site (a 3-hour-and-change edit of all the movies that cut everything not pertaining to the Dwarves' journey) in lieu of actually finishing the trilogy. It was certainly a huge improvement, but the adaptation still fails…
You many have a point, but I was so accustomed to white-haired bulb-nosed Thorin from the Rankin-Bass version that sexy leading-man Thorin just really rubbed me the wrong way. I reevaluated the shit out of the actor after seeing him Hannibal, though.
I'm kind of disappointed that there's apparently a comic-book reason to think it was an allusion to anal, because it was really refreshing to see a different position in a TV sex scene, and in particular a from-behind position with no apparent anal implication. Made it feel a lot more real. Whatever, though. The…
I'm actually a little confused. It seems like there will be two sets of reviews, one set coming out on Tuesdays and Thursdays over the next few weeks, and then another "going up all weekend." So, they're going to release several a day for the next few days and finish out the season by Sunday night? I hope I got that…
Indeed, it's an Arabic acronym for, essentially, the same thing ISIS is in English. Acronyms are not common in Arabic compared to English, so the very fact that it's an acronym implies that they are kind of silly and made up, as opposed to the real Caliphate they want to present themselves as.
Here's a detailed breakdown from a different perspective: https://www.freewordcentre….
I received that article as a link, and I'm not familiar with the broader site and don't necessarily endorse it. However, I have studied Arabic and I can vouch for the article's correctness on a purely linguistic level. Make your own…
It's really more about not ceding the title of "Islamic State" to them. Since they, and many Western Christians, are pushing to frame this conflict as a battle between Western Christianity and Eastern Islam, I think that distinction goes beyond petty name-calling. It also displays some solidarity with the…
