I'm a little skeptical. I've known Cracked.com to present facts in misleading ways for the sake of a 'mind-blowing' contrarian viewpoint. In particular, the notion that they self-applied the name Daesh before they established their faux-Caliphate flatly contradicts every other source I've heard. And many of those

Would you mind providing a source? I've always heard Daesh coming from anti-ISIS Middle Easterners, and I've never heard that they actually self-applied the term. If you're right, I'm happy to revise my view, but what you're saying contradicts everything I've heard.

I agree. The real enemy to all of us are the people on both sides, Christians and Daesh, who want this to be a Christian vs. Muslim Holy War. More than anything else, that narrative needs to be resisted. I feel there's a real element in the US (and possibly Europe as well, though I couldn't say) that would love that

I'll add Legend of Korra to that recommendation too. The first two seasons are flawed, but the whole thing is completely justified by the unmitigated awesomeness of seasons three and four.

Especially important since we're supposed to buy that he aged 45 years in 15 years.

Lee got out of it with his dignity intact, even being saddled with the name Dooku. That's no small feat.

Only the back half of the third season is Red Dragon. If the show had continued that might be an argument, but what we got was 5/6 prequel. The use of elements from later books, simply moving them forward in the timeline, muddies it up more than that. However, the major focus of the show was exploring the period where

Is anyone else imagining George Lucas in the A.V. Club offices with a gun, while the terrified staff scramble to come up with the article that will convince us to love the prequels before he shoots the next hostage?

The Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon took that even farther. (I can't believe the captain remembered my birthday! He really does care.) Come to think of it, that series comes closer to the feel of the classic Star Wars trilogy than anything I've seen lately. People looking to make big sci-fi/fantasy epics right now

This is getting embarrassing. I was in IT for 7 years, dammit. But I don't see this fucking box. Is it above or below that radio gizmo?

So it is possible to comment on Star Wars articles? How? They all just take me to one page that has all the Star Wars articles and no comments for any of them.

Wait, THAT was her?! I didn't even recognize her. She looks younger than she did on Mr. Show.

"Mother Night" starring Nick Nolte and John Goodman is completely perfect in every way.

I personally love Martin's detailed food descriptions, and all of his descriptions for that matter. They're clearly well-researched and go a long way toward making the world come alive for me. The only element of the criticism I agree with is this: that he repeats himself too much. Though some more variation would be

I am so, so glad that Tennant was not cast as Hannibal. That's part my deep love for Mikkelsen's portrayal and part my seething hatred for Tennant's portrayal of the Doctor (which, to be fair, I should blame on Davies, but associations are associations).

Every other type of adaptation has gotten much more faithful to their source material in the past decade. I wonder why video games lag behind. Probably just a lack of respect for it as a storytelling medium.

Yeah that's the prevailing attitude among whites. My point is that the white community usually underestimates how offensive "Redskin" is held to be in many Indian communities.

One of those words will result in my comment being automatically deleted. The other will not.

Never heard that Rock bit, but it's a pretty obvious comparison.

I think a lot of people don't realize just how offensive the word "Redskin" is. It's basically the same as having a team called the "N_____s."
