I watched it on Christmas, before any spoilers got out, but I still spent the entire episode just waiting for Matthew to die. After Dan Stevens announced he was leaving, that was really the only way they were ever going to write off his character without getting rid of Mary.

Weren't all of those in season 1? They obviously still have issues with pacing, but I guess the point I was trying to make is that the show's not really being treated as a procedural anymore.

The problem I had with the first season is that it seemed to be mostly individual episodes spent introducing new characters that would never be seen again. Even though this season seems to have somewhat gotten away from that, the plot is still moving at a snail's pace and it's really no better.

Yeah, I'm interested to see what he actually is. If the cure was burried with Silas so it could be used to kill him when he's released, why go through the trouble of burying him for thousands of years? Assuming the cure was put there at the same time he was, which would have to be the case since it was stuck in his

I agree about the Caroline/Klaus build-up. I think the two have amazing chemistry, but at this point with the originals spinoff on the horizon there's no way for it to pay off. At this point every scene between them just feels like a tease.

His death (assuming it's permanent) was kinda sad, but the fact that his biceps were given better material this season than Jeremy himself was a pretty good indication his character had run its course.

Katherine is back! Katherine is back! I'm so happy she's finally back! I feel like something else important might have happened this episode but I'm still riding the high of Katherine finally returning that I don't even care. Maybe I will tomorrow, but probably not.

Am I the only one who finds myself not giving two shits about the island scenes? I don't know if it's because they seem anticlimactic or maybe it's because island Oliver is whiny and annoying. It was hard for me to really like an episode that was mostly flashbacks. Although the extra Felicity Smoak was great. I'm glad

Isn't the "porn version" of 50 Shades of Grey just 50 Shades of Grey?

I signed up for OKCupid once, because the way I looked at it online dating wasn't desperate until you actually paid for it.

I don't understand, the AV Club doesn't fly you all first class? Cheapskates.

Thank you for the image of the president as Slender Man. That was a perfect hump day pick-me-up.

The airplane proposal one they've been running lately is particularly annoying:

"Please return your fiance to her upright posItion."

HAHASHOOTMEHAHA

That's what I don't understand. I mean colored diamonds are one thing, but BROWN ones? They're hideous.

So the same as every other day?

Apparently the Grammys also spawned a Taylor Swift/Carrie Underwood feud.

It's not over yet! I refuse to give up hope…

Hey, there's no need to drag National Treasure into this!

In that picutre it looks more like permanent marker drawn on his face.

This wasn't as bad as getting notifications for "Ben and Kate" and "Don't Trust the B…" in the What's on Tonight article after they were cancelled.
