When the reviewer says "creaky production values be damned", does this mean that they don't like the effects at all? Or just that it doesn't look well under the magnifying glass of blu-ray and a decent TV?

"I suffer through Star Trek: Insurrection for your pleasure"
If our reviewer appreciates "complexity" over story, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near another episode of REAL Trek again.
When did the idea of limited regenerations arise? Nu-Who confirmed there was no such thing, now it seems that old-Who had that idea at first.
I thought it was mentioned that only the higher races vaguely remembered the Time Lords.
Whatever, its making me think I'll wait to see the whole damned thing on the internet now.
True that (or should "that" be "dat"?)
That peeved me, as did a similar scene in Star Trek, where a pile of metal is vapourised to provide cover for an away team.
Star Trek also features Dom-Jot, not really that complicated, but it's inexplicable how a mix between snooker/pool and pin ball, that you play with dinky cues, ends up with knife fights with seven foot aliens.
I found all the lightsabre fights in the prequel trilogy clinical and unmoving.
So a thing is now "a thing". Is that an American thing?
I always set the notifications to show latest first, they're usually more thoughtful.
Another (sad) reminder to watch that film, which I think I've seen about 5 minutes of.
If this is 8 years later, what's going to happen to Wayne's Bat-voice? Will it be more gravelly? Or will Wayne now be unable to speak without being gritty and gravelly all the time? It sort of took the edge off the grittiness Nolan was supposedly trying to impart.
The 3D games just kept getting better through each iteration for me, I'm not sure why OOT is labelled best ever.
I'll echo that "WHAT".
Agreed that the look of the War Chief's office was great. Definitely 60s, fitting what I think is a trope of having odd looking suits for the alien bureaucrats, but nicely alien too.
Sorry to hear the news, my daughter just discovered DM too.
I love the Wiki plot summation; "Tom doesn't feel well later, which doesn't surprise anyone. They are surprised when he falls over in the Mess Hall"
Bah, Spock's Brain is far from boring, but that didn't stop the AV Club chiming in with another "worst episode ever" routine when reviewing it.
