When I was a kid, popular music was scary. I'd get criticized for either not liking the right bands, or not liking them for the right reasons. It was this morass of tribal attitudes and hostility. As a bookish, nerdy kid, Weird Al was music I could enjoy without fear. No one would chide me for not getting it, and

I'll never get sick of this story, but a music snob I knew, who hated Weird Al for being inauthentic, once played me "Everything You Know Is Wrong" thinking he'd discovered an awesome obscure TMBG song. I took incredible delight in informing him that he had just gushed praise over Weird Al.

Altered States? Really? How old was she? Damn, I got confused and thought Virgin was the movie where Rudd and Mann played the same couple as This is 40. Must be the use of the number 40 in both titles. Of course they were in Knocked Up. They're playing the same characters!

-"Yesterday they were businessmen. Today they're cowboys. Tomorrow they'll be walking funny," is the tagline to what film?
-City Slickers?

In Avengers Initiative they made it clear that the law allowed the government to straight up draft people with powers. Cloud 9 just wanted to fly. She was told she'd need a license to do so, and ended up becoming a military sniper, more or less against her will.

-Lucky, Dusty, Ned, and Jefe are character names from what film?
The Three Amigos

That is it exactly! Thank you!

The problem with the Enterprise theme (and credits for that matter) is that it was all about the past, unlike all the other themes, which tried to embody the feeling of exploration and the possibility of the future. A total tonal shift, which I think hurt people's expectations of the show. The thing that really

Especially with the teaser images. That's good foreplay.

There are two versions of DS9's theme and the one they used for the later seasons annoys me because it's not as good as the first one.

Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, One Day at a Time, Facts of Life. Charles in Charge. Mr Belvedere. Family Ties. The Eighties had a lot of good ones. I could go on for awhile.

-In Office Space, what's the name of the character who shares his name with a popular singer?
-Michael Bolton

Die Hard and The Ref

Well martinis are for squares, man,

-What film features the characters Bo Peep, Rex, and Hamm?
-Toy Story

Alf and Alf Tales, in my memory, were pretty smart and funny. Much more than the live show. Great theme song too.

That's how I mostly remember these.

It was truly a golden age.

Mr Sutherland's show is sending us a lot of business, so I hope they go on for several years as well, but we have enough performers for multiple shows, and it always sucks when a reliable production shuts down.

I don't work for the show, I work for a background casting agency. Three or four of our clients were regularly on as castle guards and could count on the show for an average of three days of work a month. Hopefully something comes along to replace it.
