Hooray for no cancer! Hope your mom recovers speedily.

A lifetime of poor posture has left me with a very bad back. Painful almost all the time, limited flexibility, painful spasms when I sleep. I've begun stretching and core strengthening exercises every day to try to reduce the pain, but with little success.

Yeah, getting over what other people think, positively or negatively, is incredibly liberating.

You can do it!

I enjoyed Shakespeare's Star Wars if only to imagine how I would like to stage the plays. They demand some pretty creative staging.

It's a perfectly good place to start. They don't have to be read in order and Mort is the first really good book in the series. If you are inclined to read them out of order I would recommend either Wyrd Sisters or Guards! Guards! next.

Night Watch is one of my favourites, It's possibly the best Vimes book in the series, and that's saying a lot. I'm still way back at Hogfather

Guards! Guards! is classic. Hope you enjoy further Pratchett.

As a big fan of science fiction films and superhero comic books I never tried to enjoy things that were cool because they were cool. I knew early on that I wasn't a cool kid and never would be. It left me free to enjoy the things I liked and to be mocked for liking them.

Thank you.

I had to turn off an old black and white horror film when I was a younger man. I was staying at my grandparents house in rural Scotland on holiday. A big house, isolated, and as my grandparents went to bed quite early very quiet and dark at night. The BBC had been showing late night classic horror flicks every night

Wow, I disagreed with nearly everything Rebecca James wrote here.

Really? Every time I try Arkham Horror I spend more time consulting the rule book than actually playing. It's frustrating even before getting to how difficult it is to actually win.

Any excuse to buy more pork pies. It is hard not to drink all the sherry myself.

I am now going to review my list and consider if each item would be improved by the addition of large wild swine. Thanks!

Still reading Pratchett, still reading Hogfather.

Yeah, that doesn't help.

Let us not forget the Mysterious Punch-Up-The-Conker! Ying tong iddle i po!

There's a lot of philosophizing in between the good bits. It gets pretty dry.

The problem with Frankenstein is that DeNiro doesn't look truly monstrous. For a movie version to work, the monster needs to be utterly repulsive. An articulate, intelligent zombie, basically. I was also disappointed at the changes from the book Coppola made after promising this version would be more faithful.
