I also saw him London, Ontario. With you! It was an awesome opening. Unrelated, are you back? And how are you feeling?

Brendan Behan
That hadn't occurred to me. But the last time I visited that site, I somehow lost a whole week. I'm scared to go back.
I remembered meet Joe Black, but you're right, I don't think he becomes truly mortal in that. I hadn't heard of Death Takes a Holiday, but apparently it's based on a play. Is this a twentieth century idea? It just seems like the kind of premise that would be centuries old.
In that case I feel okay. I've come second after 500 turns once. Maybe that's all I can hope for.
I know that feeling. Nothing like never ending hype to turn you against something. And thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it.
Also, you seem the guy to ask this, have you come across this story of "Death becomes mortal" anywhere else? It feels like a really old idea but what few examples I can think of are quite modern.
It is the only Pratchett book I've been disappointed by. It was the first evidence I saw that his illness was affecting his talent. As a result, it's the only one I've only read once. You may feel differently though.
That's on the shirt I'm wearing! And it's particularly true in this case. Pratchett takes the time to give Death a rich life, if a brief one.
Well, that's not what I want to hear, but I'm upvoting anyway.
Did you cheat?
Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for stopping!
Struggling to win my first game of Civ 5 on hard difficulty. No matter what I try, I can't seem to beat the AI!
No, the white zone is for loading of passengers and there is no stopping in a RED zone.
Glad to hear he's okay.
But you seemed so happy! Sorry to hear that.
Moist is a great character. Making Money and Going Postal quickly became two of my favourites. Too bad Raising Steam was so disappointing.
Just finished Pratchett's Feet of Clay and am starting Hogfather. Here's another review, for what might be his best book. Sorry. (can't help it, I'm Canadian)
I am also continuing my Discworld re-read, but have only just finished Feet of Clay, which is so, so good, and am about to pick up Hogfather. Fifth Elephant through to Wee Free Men is excellent, but I think the strongest run of Discworld novels is from Reaper Man to Men at Arms. That period, I think, represents…
One big knife, lots of little throwing knives.
