Dame Helen is an Oscar-WINNING actress, not merely an Oscar-NOMINATED actress. How dare you.

Watched this a week late so sorry if anyone has already made this point, but man wouldn't it be awesome if Allison was PAIGE JENNINGS??

    Where is Camille Braverman??

    ^ this

In the non-comedian, Cavett, Snyder, et al. vein, why not Ira Glass?

I was watching Dave lastnight, as I do most nights, and the one thought that kept occurring to me was "Leno would never have the balls to do this."  The Top 10 list written on cue cards, with an intern or someone crouching in front of the desk and holding them up, was absolutely hilarious.

Eh.  Loved White Teeth, enjoyed On Beauty, but I couldn't even make it more than 17% through this one (at least according to Kindle app).  Maybe I am just averse to stream-of-consciousness, but I quickly got the feeling that this was one of those books I would only finish if I eventually got upset enough at myself for

Maybe it's just me, but I actually thought that the entire storyline was almost justified by Chibs' "who gives a shit" reaction, because I feel like so much of the time, the characters on this show do stupid shit that they don't necessarily have to do because they are mistakenly convinced that things are a certain

One of my all-time favorites, have reread this one many, many times.  Even the movie version, although it pussied out on the ending, wasn't too bad.  John Glover made for an excellent Brother Leon, and Wyatt from Weird Science wasn't a bad Renault.  Oh, and the guy who played Obie is Horace Goodspeed/dude who married

I like how the Russian guy pronounced "PAYnis."  That is all.

Does NOBODY ELSE notice that Anna Paquin's True Blood storyline is now a blatant ripoff of Anna Paquin's X-Men storyline??  "You mean I can be a normal human without superpowers?  Bring on the mutant vaccine!  I mean, let me flashy-thing my powers away!  Whichever!"  If you're going to rip off an entire storyline, at
