I don't think there's any malice in, for example, comic book artists depicting every super heroine as a super model, they're catering to their demographics, and besides, having a whole array of body shapes would make it way harder to keep things in proportion. Is easier to draw everyone with almost the same body type.

Tifa is probably the best done of the bunch, the legs look way better on the photoshopped version. If all the other ones took similar approaches, it would have been better received.
