I've watched my league one by one adopt the face mask as they each experience their own stick/puck to the face incident. The chirping has long since stopped around here. Beer league isn't worth that shit.

You mean Clearwater? That used to be the worst rink when I was playing youth hockey, though apparently they've improved it since. I still hear it's not great, but you can't really beat that price unless you're somewhere where ponds freeze.

One of the few advantages to playing hockey in Florida. $350 tops for a 14 guaranteed games season, and almost always plenty of ice time at $20 pickups. The ice isn't great, but I've played in worse rinks.

My championship game for one league is tonight. We've got a pretty good shot at taking home our rink's Stanley Keg.

He's possibly just charismatic, and therefore good when good enough stuff is written for him. I've never watched him do anything he wrote.

The promos for this show made me think I dislike Craig Robinson. I keep having to remind myself that, no, this is a guy I've liked in most things I've seen him in.

I was watching it this weekend in my hotel room because the internet was terrible and I couldn't stream Wet Hot, and actually enjoyed it a fair bit.

Man, I watched last season's finale of The Americans followed by this last night, and they both left me feeling incredibly depressed. It takes a great show to leave me feeling that way, but maybe both in one night wasn't the best idea.

Well, you are attractive. I'm not the someone, am I?

Now I just need to find a friend who likes Sufjan :(

I will never stop noticing that she is almost always facing towards the left in her pictures.

This post has a surprisingly interesting look at the current state of the Pitchfork machine with regards to its recent Tame Impala review:

Sarah-as-Helena-as-Alison-as-Tatiana Maslany

I was just going to be pessimistic about them not nominating a single person from Rectify, but I'll settle for Maslany getting a nom. Baby steps.

You mean Chalky, right? Or did he do a really good job of pretending to be Steve Buscemi.

Obviously Harmontown Adam Goldberg would get a villain name. Maybe The Riddler? Except it's The Riddler from a Pete Holmes sketch that has shitty riddles and no one really wants to hear from.

Between Drive, Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year and Ex Machina, I haven't even seen him play anything close to the same role twice, but they're all so good.

Just listened to the Rectify podcast, and it really was a great send up to Serial. Captured the tone perfectly, while making a couple decent points about the show itself and the case it surrounds. I wonder if they'll be doing more episodes in that format, or if it was just a one off to summarize what had happened.

"We muted this video. You won't believe what happens next."

Not quite passing the Turing test yet.
