"Hey, look everyone, someone rich and famous said something stupid and hypocritical! What a surprise!" -No One

I don't like latter-day Eastwood, and I have no interest in this jingoistic piece of war propaganda — especially given that it is based on a book full of tall tales of questionable veracity.

It's rare that an 11th hour incident like this becomes a leading contender for "Stupidest Fucking Story Of The Year." I can't take any of it seriously… which is why I come to the A.V. Club comments to stay sane!

The new Secret Origins has been blah. Also, unnecessary since DC did origins of all its New 52 characters in #0 month in September 2012. Probably why it's ending with all the rest of DCs flotsam and jetsam in March.

The A.V. Club

I hear you; the reality of transnational corporations makes the idea of businesses with home countries an anachronism — that and offshore tax shelters.

This joke should ABSOLUTELY make patchface feel better about his.

What IS sort of ironic is criticism of a Japanese company purportedly refusing to stand up for American values by giving into "terrorists"…

Or at least turn on your web browser's grammar and spellcheck, for Christ sake.

Great, now I need to be more specific when I ask people if they want to see my Bill Cosby impersonation…

Finally watched this just last night. I'd put it near the bottom of my annual "best of" list, or maybe on the "honorable mentions" depending on how deep I made it. The biggest thing I came away with is how badly it was marketed and the fact that Tom Cruise's recent history (Oblivion, Jack Reacher) probably really hurt

… and I thought the entire thing was one big eye-roll, so I guess I sort of agree with both of you?

Satisfying empty calories.

I was a big fan of Batman's "darkness" song as well. ('Untitled Self-Portrait' is the name of the track on the movie soundtrack.)

I only dissent on Snowpiercer. Surely original and well-directed, but I don't think it actually say anything all that revelatory about class, let alone anything new or novel. I think what bothered me most is the contortions it had to do to shoehorn a class-based story into its very odd dystopian premise. The metaphor

That I really liked almost every film (I'm looking at you Snowpiercer) mentioned here, and have seen less than half of those on the "official" top-20 list must bespeak what an unserious moviegoer I am. Call me crazy, but sometimes I like to enjoy my movies, and I think almost every one of these qualifies as

Up next: The premiere of "IN CIS," an all new drama about the thin line between straight and queer! Followed by an all-new Mike and Molly!
