That only works if the stylization has the right effect.  I didn't see the twins and get chills down my spine; more often than not I got the chuckles.  I seriously doubt the writers meant for them to be comic relief.

I totally agree with what Black Orpheus said about the twins.  For me, the way the show depicted them was its biggest misstep.  This doesn't prevent me in any way from enjoying the show, or the dramatic tension of the episodes in which the twins appear.  However, it does take me out of the show when I'm supposed to be
