Your empathy made it through "Spoiler alert - his cat's in the drain"?

I didn't even see it as Danny marginalizing Mindy because she's a woman.  He wants to be the one making the decisions - he said in a earlier episode that when Toblowsky retired he should be the one in charge.  Now that's happened, so Danny is trying to take over.  He "teams up" with Jeremy because Jeremy is weak and

That was the whole point of the Colin Firth line - Mindy was commenting that it it had been a really long time since her two friends agreed on something, all the way back to when Colin Firth was popular enough to not count as an outdated reference. Of course Firth is still r ridiculously handsome, amazingly talented

I assumed dolphins were on Burt's mind because he lives in the house with Hope and probably has the Dancing Dolphin movie memorized.

Paul Blackthorne, who plays Detective Lance, is 43.  The woman who
plays his daughter Laurel is 26, which is a 17 year difference that
everyone seems OK with.  Maybe people are drawing the line at a 16 year
difference as being believable?  Or is is because everyone thinks
Blackthorne looks a lot older than he is?

Based in Ben's facial reaction to that line, I think the actor who plays Tommy ad libbed it.  Plus the little smiles at the end.

The husband's death made the wife very rich.  If she was acquitted of his  murder, she would have moved all of her estate and business dealings to Lockhart and Gardner, and they would have landed a very big account.  I think that's what Diane was saying.  If the wife is guilty, she doesn't inherit and that business

I really liked that he didn't say definitely one way or the other.  Not only is it none of Nick's business, Cary didn't devolve into some macho "of course I'm not gay!" posturing.  It made me like Cary even more.

I had a comment about this episode, but you mentioned "Fibber McGee and Molly" and now I have to get out my NewsRadio DVDs.

Even with the weird staging, Broderick and Burrell got more gay action in that one scene than Cam and Mitchell have in the history of the show.
