If i may suggest a book…Can't Stop, Won't Stop by Jeff Chang especially the chapters about the overlap between the downtown scene and the hip hop scene. It made me realize that early 80's NYC wasn't just crack and AIDS. Of course Haring then died of AIDS and Basquait (sic) died of a drug overdose. Sigh.

I was going to say something about him not using heroin and I don't think it would necessarily result in anything good. The only recording artist at this point that I would suggest get back on narcotics is Lil Wayne.
