One thing that bugs me
Okay, there lots of things that bug me about the show, but one that's worth talking about now. This is a relatively intelligent show. The characters and their sidekicks are genre-savvy and aware of superhero tropes. They are also not lacking in resources, as Jim's new Superhero Lair…
It's a surprisingly prolific plot in sitcoms. Everyone Loves Raymond even has one. I know how sad it is that I know that.
Look on the bright side
At 10 million, the movie made more on its first weekend than Hot Fuzz and Shawn of the Dead did. Combined. And since people are still happy throwing money in his direction after those two, we can assume that they generally do well enough in later weeks or in the foreign markets or in…
I'm sorry…
But did you insult the insanity pepper episode of the Simpsons? The second best episode of the season and one of the best of the series? I am shocked and appalled.
What about Road to Nowhere?
Don't Fear the Reaper and pretty much everything Oingo Boingo made were already listed, but I can't believe the Talking Heads classic wasn't included either.
After this newspost
I would be pretty funny if he turns out to be playing Omega Red.
I'll grant you most of season 8. It got a bit crappy in the end but had some of the the show's most celebrated episodes as well.
If death is not an option.
After seeing the reviews for this one, I have to ask:
I can't believe I never knew the name of the office building's road before. That's a great reference to the original series.
Wait, let me guess. "I don't have low self-esteem. I have low esteem for everyone else." That was the first line that came to mind thirteen years later.
Oh, one more quick warning about the adaptation.
One problem with the new graphics is that the new maps are terrible. Most are too small to see, and in larger areas, the map will fail to show the whole area and just cut to a blur. This is normally just annoying, but in one place, it's game-breaking. In the Outer…
From that list above, I can't recommend Iji enough. I enjoy Cave Story immensely, but Iji remains my favorite Freeware game. It's another shooter/platformer with customizable leveling and a need choice system that affects the game in many ways; in particular, you can strive for a completely pacifist run-through of…
It's a platformer like Megaman is a platformer; it's a platformer where the main character shoots a gun. In the screenshot, the character has to ascend up the side of the wall by leaping up those small block/platforms on the side. That the character (the boy with a gun) is nowhere near them suggests that he missed…
On This Note
How has Danger Mouse gotten away with it for so long?
How is the Office a major exception?
Okay, maybe they're not the most close-knit group, and Dwight and Ryan in particular are actively hostile to others in the office. But they gave off the "family" vibe often enough. Certainly it's Michael's philosophy, as he often openly expresses. And hell, Jim and Pam invited…
You'd think she would at least say some nice things about the rings. I never really understood what you'd do to represent the non-bird ones these days, anyway. Sure, drummers are easy. But maids a milking? Would Andy have left a bunch of cattle in her lawn? What would happen to the milk? And lords a leaping? Do…
The hell?
I didn't even know there was a new episode! Wait…the regular time is 9/8, isn't it? Thus the rerun I saw was where Hank used to be. Welp, I'm a moron.
I loved the thoughts in Earshot
Xander's immediately thoughts of sex, Ox having more dialogue in his head than he had all season, and ESPECIALLY Cordelia immediately saying what she's thinking.
Why does everyone (even the show) say the soul turned invisible?
He was clearly a teleporter. Invisible people are much easier to beat; just use paint or cover the floor with flour or something. But invisible people can't go from standing still to suddenly gone mid-swing.
