Yeah, but this show focuses on the early days of his career, i.e. when he's the only good cop in a sea of corruption, and everything is pretty hopeless.

Ehhhh.
I am so excited to hate on this show without ever watching it.
Really? I thought Season One was generic and kind of boring, while Season 2 had some hilarious character-driven humor.
Sidenote: This seems like a terrible, bland, boring, awful, bad name for a show.
It's gotta be one of those two, right?
Eh, I don't think so. It's trying too hard to be meme-able.
This sounds more like Cool Runnings + The Hurt Locker + …Jerry Maguire, I guess?
When was the last time there was a truly hilarious roast? I wouldn't be surprised if it was back when they were still using the "Friar's Club" brand
I heard Lisa Lampanelli likes to bang black dudes. I don't know, that's just something I heard somewhere once.

Scrubs was pretty excellent.
I figured it out eventually, obviously- but considering how big Fire Island is, the vast majority of people I knew who went there were not going for gay orgies in the dunes (probably? I guess I can't back that up).
Next week: "I'm so sorry you were raped, not unlike Detroit- which has been raped by Republicans."
True Story- growing up on Long Island, I had absolutely no idea what everyone else in the country considered Fire Island shorthand for. For most people on Long Island, Fire Island is just a cool place to go to the beach.
I bet Sorkin is just glad someone used "mutatis mutandis" in talking about his show. This was a weird show. It was excellent, but there are so many little pieces you can point to that are cringeworthy. It was dramatic, but it had that goddamn laugh track.I should rewatch it.
You know what's weird? I was chatting with a random acquaintance about how he had just watched all of Community, and he didn't really have much of an opinion about Season 4. I don't think he even knew who Dan Harmon was.
I could see it working here, albeit with some tweaking. Without spoiling anything, the first book mostly focuses on a specific incident, and if compressed a bit, would serve very well as the first half of a movie (since it does a very good job of setting up the characters, how Artemis thinks, how fairies work, and so…
This is a divisive episode? I can't imagine anyone but the most joyless fanboy disliking this episode.
"What if I stand right in your office and look you in the eye and call you Sambo?"Cracks me up.And yeah, the Dan/Casey relationship is definitely one of the highlights of this show- it feels real and deep, and has since episode one.
