I'm a fan, and I think that part of your response comment is right (the Disqus won't let me reply there). It was a soft period of time. However, I also think he got big because he was willing to rap on top of anything on his mixtapes, and he kept putting stuff out. It was hard to avoid hearing his music in 2007-2008,

I don't know if those are their best albums, but they're really fun to listen to because of how out there the covers got. My favorite of that period is "River Deep, Mountain High", love the introduction.
