I personally thought "d Sharp" confused Chris Albrecht, whom you mentioned, with Daniel Knauf; thus, the post?

Granted, it is an attack on the reviewer. What I meant to say was that it is difficult to blame him for not caring about a show if he didn't choose to review it. If he chose to review it then the full blame's on him, after all. Though you can't really mean that PRESIDENCY analogy with a straight face.

I'm not even disagreeing with you - the show deserved a lot of negativity over the past two years, but that wasn't what I was talking about.

Don't know why this didn't occur to me before (surely it occurred to everyone else)…

"the most blatantly obvious laugh track I've ever heard" - Now, you won't see me give this advice often, or even ever, but here it is: Watch an episode of the Big Bang Theory. That should put HIMYM's laugh track in perspective.
(Although I agree that it doesn't fit HIMYM anymore. Laugh tracks are obsolete.)

It's funny that the review starts talking about "a good gimmick", which is exactly what I thought about the case. For half the episode, it was an adventurous treasure hunt instead of a murder mystery, and even when it became such, there was no suspect pool to maintain it beyond the gimmick. What I despised about the…

This show has never delivered a bad episode, in my opinion. Less than stellar, or average, sure. And while this episode wasn't bad, we seem to be getting there.

You know… I grew up with Buffy the Vampire Slayer to a point where I watched it when I was actually way to young to watch it. I'm talking "those amateur visual effects scare me" young. But since then, I've grown up, and have heard Whedon run his mouth way more than he ever should have.
