I would say that it's not just that any such experience is personal; such experience is impossible. If you were able to experience it, it would be empirical.

I'm not sure that the word 'metarational' has any meaning, but otherwise I don't really disagree. If you don't feel the 'pull' of parsimony considerations, I certainly can't convince you to do so.
