I think the common sentiment is the exact opposite. Everyone was excited at the possibilities, and then Nintendo essentially removed their quality control program, and shovelware buried the good titles in a mound of casual gaming.

I still don't quite get the show. Maybe it's my aversion to Adult Swim's latest programming issues (yes, anime is one of the biggest reasons you lasted as a programming block, AS, deal with it and stop alienating your fans), but I just don't find it very interesting.

PT, you should finish it. NGE is just too influential to not watch at least once through. Although, if you don't end up liking it, I can't really blame you. It's one of those series that you either like or don't.

The first album I ever encountered was Sonic Nurse, which a friend recommended. I was into pretty awful music at the time (I liked Staind, uggh…) and all I could think was how grating the garage style was.

To me, it loses some of its luster on subsequent viewings. You start to pick up on the incongruities in the plot, and the imagery starts to wear. But it's still better than most of the schlock out there.
