Gears of War is like the slightly less-frat boyish brother of the Halo and Call of Duty series. It's crass, immature, and ridiculous, and while that may appeal to some, I prefer games that try.

They've become complacent in the same way Sony did with the release of the PS3. When you think you own the industry, you won't try as hard. I still love Nintendo's flagship and niche franchises, and hope that they will realize the mistakes made in the past four years and will rectify them.
He's all over the place these days.
That's his MO.
That scene where she stares in amazement at Billy Crudup as he walks into the house is hilarious. That may be the only time I've ever been impressed with her.
The Extended Universe has always held more of my interest than its source. Jedi who are genuinely deep, like Revan, actually push philosophical and metaphysical points, whereas Anakin/Vader always seemed rather base. But I'll blame Lucas for that portrayal.
Hey, low pressure systems have done good work. I enjoy the occasional tornado.
I second Leonard's sentiment. Ellis is barely worthy of being read as a dime-store novel, let alone being compared to titans of the American literary tradition.
I would ditto that point with Nathaniel Hawthorne's Scarlett Letter. I hated that book in 10th grade, but in college, I decided to try it again, and grew to enjoy it. Also, requiring it in school tends to carry a certain attitude into the reading.
Vader never seemed to be a great villain to me. A very good one, but the father/son complexity seemed to be his only dimension.
I liked Wilson, but Malin Ackerman's constant presence clouded his performance.
Ulysses and Hemingway getting hate? I think English teachers are failing to teach these wonderful things correctly…
I do agree with the hatred of Imagine. I've always thought that song sent the worst possible message, but he was the most important part of the Beatles. And while they are overrated, The White Album and Sgt. Pepper's are true genius.
Frito, it's fine, I just find the song amusing, not anything great. Black Hole Sun and Superunknown are far superior to me.
"Doesn't Remind Me" gets regular play in my car. Audioslave just had too many expectations for themselves.
Hey, they couldn't all be Bill Murray and Richard Pryor, but even Pryor had Superman III…
I love Billy Crudup. He's one of the few big names to actually deliver a great voice performance in an animated film (Ashitaka in Princess Mononoke). And without him and Jackie Earl-Haley, Watchmen was just shitty.
Soundgarden was decent though. I still listen to Spoonman quite often.
@ Harry Seaward
F. Scott Fitzgerald is far from shitty. Sure, The Great Gatsby is overanalyzed and read, but his jazz-age stories are among the best you'll ever come across.
