Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that what Caroline did was "good". I'm saying that what she did was ethically problematic but ultimately justifiable. I'm also saying that what the twins were trying to do was also problematic.

How do you know what their romantic chemistry is like? Have you seen secret behind the scenes footage of romance scenes with them?
I know with Jenna they simply said that she was able to move on, but they also never used the "at peace" thing as an actual mechanism with her. It was all very handwavy.
It's kind of the idea of there being a semantic concept of "at peace" as the way to move on that I found somewhat out of the blue. I guess I forgot…
They're still slowhanding the Stefan/Caroline thing, so I can't really knock what they're doing there. To me, shipping equals an immature relationship such as a "will-they won't-they" or a triangle, rather than people simply developing feelings for each other in an evenhanded manner. (That said, Caroline's crying…
When did they mention the "finding peace" thing then?
I'm not talking about reviews but commenters, and I'm not really talking about the AV Club (I see it a bit here, but not much) so much as the overall internet commentary on the show (I only read commentary on two other sites, but I still've noticed a continuity).
The worst part was when they went to a Nova Scotian island to find Silas. And I say that as someone who is both from Nova Scotia and has spent extended amounts of time on one of its many islands.
X does Y, and X is a Z, so if A does Y, A must also be a….?
Lawful good requires an adherence to an actual written set of laws or judicial conventions. This was not that. Witches are chaotic good.
Lack of chemistry? What? That is incorrect.
Really? I don't remember it at all. That's great if it was though. Is that how the Anna thing was resolved?
1. Their resurrection isn't "sustained" by magic, it was only magic that resurrected them.
See: If Bonnie made a rock float in the air permanently, the traveler spell would cause the rock to fall.
But if Bonnie just moved a rock with magic, the traveler spell would not cause that rock to move back to its original…
I'm all for criticizing a show for its many flaws, but is anyone else getting a vibe that a significant portion of TVD commenters on the internet are starting to approach the show with a giant hate boner?
The "Caroline killed 12 witches" thing continues to drive me crazy. Caroline killed a single witch that was actively killing her friend, and the rest died because they were linked together, and then Caroline was morally shamed for it ("it", being intervening in an attempted murder).
What else would she have spoken about? She spent her time on The Other Side watching over Stefan and wanting to be happy, and the last time that she came back she also spent a large portion of it talking about Caroline with Stefan.
Eh, not really. Bonnie was dead either way. Lexi gained nothing by tiptoeing around a fact that Bonnie already knew.
Jenna is dead and gone. That's good for this show. Advocating yet another person's return, nonetheless one who is confirmed to have fucked off this mortal coil for good, is not going to improve this show.
I still need to watch Remedy's finale. That show was some pretty good stuff.
This was a very well done episode.
You've pretty much summed up my thoughts on Sara exactly with this post. At least she's in the synopsis for season 3!
