I think you vastly overestimate Callies future job prospects. Has she ever been, well, good in anything? Blame the writing all you want, she was awful in this and in Prison Break, and she's way on the wrong side of 30. She's a couple guest spots from Hollywood oblivion.

Sure, the writers are leaning on her gut as the main reason. But Michonne's been acting incredibly paranoid from the first moment she arrived, when this is the first human contact she and Andrea have had in seven months and it has every amenity (including safety) that you could want in a zombie apocalypse.
