I'd imagine that everyone posting on this thread is aware of this, but Ricky Jay is tits. He's brilliant at everything he's in, and everything he's in is brilliant. I'm ashamed to admit I've never read one of his books in its entirety, but just about everything he me writes about is articulated in a fascinating way.

Me and Josh Modell have the same music advisor. Boards all the way, for work and exercise. It's pretty rare that I listen to music at work, but when I do it has to be Boards' complicated background music. My main pleasure at the work place is typing inanities on this site during downtime.

I'm really looking forward to this movie, and am looking even forwarder to the eventual DVD commentary.

I'll drink to that.

In case anyone has forgotten - on this site, it's doubtful - Bad Lieutenant: Pork Callin Nallins is being unleashed on 11/20.

50 also intends to make a boxing drama with Nicolas Cage, though that seems to be on the back-burner for now…

D'OH!

Agreed, the more Louis CK the better.

Nothing substantive to say other than if you own a Blu Ray player and like painkillers get Planet Earth (OK even if you don't like painkillers). It is just absolutely beautifully done in every way and was more than a worthy successor to Blue Planet: Seas of Life. I have rethunk bat shit and glow worms due to the Caves

I loved the Chappelle show and found it profound at times, but there is no better show that separates white people and crackas. You can guage a honky's essence by seeing their reaction to the show.

I'll agree with you somewhat on the hipster label - since it's almost inescapable on these forums - but The Wire is really about music. It sounds stupid having to state this there is no scene pretension going on with it. I will go for the avant label because, I mean what else can you call it. The primers are tits, but

CAPTION:

I believe Sony's investment will be proven to be worth it just for the fact that Michael Jackson fans are batshit and will see the doc multiple times.

I can't think of an entire film that terrified me other than Alien (and maybe Jurasic park as a kid). But there is one scene in one film that made my heart stop and nearly made my bowels empty, and the film is Mulholland Drive. How you ask.

You motherfucker, you took my Cosmo line, and didn't even use it properly. Don't you know how important it is to use shit correctly on a website among the anonymous during downtime at work! Arrrgh!!

Oh, that's Cosmo… he's Chinese.

WTF.

Polymath is a hoity toity word and I understand the disdain, but just look the guy up. What he's done in his life is just absurd and his current company has a criminally brilliant concept for making money.
