I was going to defend Cracked but then I realized I skip at least 4/5 of what they post without even thinking about it. (I get Cracked exclusively through an RSS feed so I don't have to navigate their stupid website).

The site design is terrible and I don't read almost any of the articles, but some of the video series are really good. I'll still read anything by DOB, Seanbaby and a few others.

All I can imagine is that it's directed at people who liked 30 Rock in college and who now have young kids? It sounds like they missed the sweet spot of "appeals to kids and adults" and landed on "appeals to neither kids nor adults," though.

I took history in Ontario and I thought the perspective I got on Riel was pretty balanced - I credit that to a) the fact that I was in French immersion (so the curriculum was probably closer to Quebec's) and b) my history teacher, who made a point of highlighting Native issues and history.

Or a party could get more votes than any other but not win control of the government. The extreme scenario would be one party getting 100% of the vote in 49% of the country, and 49% of the vote in the rest of the country.
