In response to the earlier comment asking if dramatic episodes were popular among the "hardcore" fans - yes. This episode is getting rave reviews on Tumblr, Twitter, and other popular "fandom" (god, I hate that word) online hangouts.

This episode was pretty cheesy in more ways than one, but in typical Castle fashion, it was a great 43-minute distraction. Fillion and Katic both definitely delivered on the shocked horror of finding out about Ryan's interrogation, and Dever himself really killed that scene (in a good way!) The last scene was also

I loved the dorm scene. It brought me back to when my parents dropped me off at university…I'm not ashamed to say I got a little misty.

I think I'd switch the letter grades between this and the premiere, personally…but the review, as per usual, is dead-on.
