It's great.
It's great.
Disagree. When people don't get something, or if it isn't for them, they often refer to it as an "in-joke".
From what era does the "boy" in Tennis appear to be?
Loved the acting style, and the ren faire scene you describe was one of the favorites of mine, and those with whom I saw it. Not saying your opinion is incorrect, just countering it.
You're correct. That's all.
Disagree that second season is better than the first. Having a real tough time with this one. This episode was better than some of the others. As opposed to others, I do understand the relationship of Gus and Mickey, but there are way too many lazy plot points. I suppose that's the problem of television, or…
….because Gillian Jacobs is great in the role?
Ugh. Why would Mickey stick around with Randy at the mall? She would leave the second he started acting like a dick at the mall. Too many things happening this season for unbelievable reasons. If the show is supposed to be an honest exploration of love, why are the plots dishonest to the characters?
Paul Rust has a beautiful and talented wife.
"You're too fucking sensitive if metal offends you" says person who is offended by this article. I've loved metal for 25 years, and this article does not offend me, or piss me off, or cause any reaction except, "Welp, glad I know that about Craig Pillard now".
"I think perhaps possibly within "OUR" lifetime "WE" will be fortunate to see the end of world Jewry, if "WE" take on the struggle and end the utter demise of the world. I think "WE" can prosper on other worlds or "WE" can lay down like dogs and be utterly annihilated unless we do something now! I mean NOW!!" - Craig…
Well, the article is not, at all, specifically about black metal. I am also sure that the author of this piece knows it is possible to talk about negative, unpopular subject matter while not actually endorsing it, because that is exactly what they are doing. However, with at least one of the subjects in the article…
I don't believe the AV Club is the first to call him that.
Since when is the easiest way out to alienate your considerable fanbase??
I don't think this album is being reviewed on its own merits; that is, I don't believe it would get the same grade were a debut album by another band. From reading the comments, it seems as though a lot of people are personally threatened by a band purposefully stepping away from a successful formula. It seems clear…
Any article that includes a swath of music from Assuck to Jawbox is a pretty wide-ranging piece. Why would we be talking about Slanted and Enchanted? That is the very definition of indie, er, "college" rock.
Good thing they learned to play it last - I saw them in about 2000 (mostly to see the openers, Jimmy Eat World), and about 30% of the audience walked out after Face To Face played "Disconnected". I couldn't believe that was a real thing that actually happened.
Enjoyed the article, once again, but I have never seen someone bend over backwards so much to extol an album as "mediocre" like you did with Don't Turn Away. I listened to my fair share of Face to Face in the 90's (Big Choice, no less), but couldn't do it now. Last I checked, "Disconnected" is still played several…
That was my favorite album for quite a long time. I had several friends that got Life.Love.Regret. tattoos, but I just can't identify with the emotion anymore and think the vocals are pretty whack.
I love that Envy / Endeavor split, and have (honestly) always admired the cover artwork. Did you do much else as far as cover art?
