I think many people here have probably heard Frente!'s (can't forget that exclamation mark!) version, esp. if they've lived outside the US. In my opinion it's way better than the original, but it's such a different style that it's hard to imagine someone liking both versions.

I love the song, but the lyrics to War Pigs are a mess. They sound like something a sad 9th-grader would write. Rhyming masses with masses is the least of its problems.

As I'm sure many here know, the Cardigans weren't a one-hit wonder in Europe, though they were a one-hit-per-album wonder, which is the next worse thing.

She looks exactly the same without the makeup.

    Number
Josh, if I remember my calculus, the number you're looking for is epsilon, sort of. I believe it's what mathematicians generally use when they want a number that can be arbitrarily small.

@Entropyre - Yes, George is generally unselfish. But not perfect. Who is? So he has some weaknesses… if he didn't, he would have nothing to learn, and the movie would not exist.

@dr - That's a very bleak reading of the film. In fact it's not miserable up to George's breaking point. The movie takes great pains to show the good things in his life. He loves his wife and family. And he also loves his work. At the same time, he also misses the things he never got to do. Like all of us, he is

    Diana Muldaur
She always does seem to play smart but grating characters that audiences love to hate. If I recall correctly, in LA Law they killed off her character by having her accidentally step into an empty elevator shaft.

Having watched him since Mork, I can state he was very funny for kids, not adults.

Kyle - that story about your grandma is about as deep and meaningful as The Kite Runner, without all the torture and child-rape.

Leto, it's supposed to be funny, and it actually is funny. It's also useful for the plot. It says a lot about his mother, and creates ambiguity about what Forest understands. Sorry you were disturbed by it at age 13.

The songs are great. But also totally cliched. Who was surprised when the played "Running on Empty" during Forest's run? By that point in the movie it is clear that only the most obvious musical choices will be made.

    Buses in Israel
What he says about riding buses in Israel is not accurate. When there were a lot of bus bombings in Jerusalem (around 2001-2003), many people living there, tourists and citizens alike, were certainly much more nervous about riding them, and tried to avoid it if they could, especially the bus lines that

TY: No need to read my comment. You got the gist: I hate fun.

    Excellent
Sorry, boys, but this review is dead on.

She actually sings very well, and the songs (at least on her debut album) are fun and good pop/country music. But it does all feel a bit processed.

    Damn. Too late.

    Fine review
A fine review of a movie too many of us have skipped for various reasons.

Mostly OK thread but the pro-rapist arguments are simply bizarre:

I'm not a professional writer - can you tell?
