Precisely. Example: I have a friend who doesn't do so well with the ladies. He gets drunk, goes out on the town, makes an ass of himself and invariably gets rejected by said females. The next morning, in his hungover state, he usually goes on a tirade about how he hates "bitches." THAT'S misogyny.

Actually the sympathy he elicits is based on the idea that THIS particular woman is a leech. There's a difference between having a grudge against one particular member of the female gender and misogyny.
