You make some interesting points, but saying that the serious acting on Community is better than Scrubs is categorically wrong.

One of my favourite parts of the show for a while now has been Jason Segel clearly a bit bemused by the mediocre material he is having written for him, doing bizarre line readings clearly just to amuse himself within the context of filming each of his scenes. It's a masterclass in absurdist, phoned-in acting.
