Well don't get me started, because I have a bag full of unpopular opinions on "Khan"!  I just don't buy that Kirk's reaction to Spock's death is particularly meaningful or offers any insights into Kirk's character or requires Kirk to "face death."  It plays well in the moment, while watching it, but leaves me feeling

I dunno, I think you're a bit hard on both the A and B plots of "Life Support."  Bareil was an awful character, but I'm inclined to think that he had one of the best Trek deaths (I'm limiting myself to TOS, TNG, and DS9 thus far, in order to avoid DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise spoilers.)  Most deaths, like Spock's in

I really want StarTrek.com to interview Hannah Hatae.  I'd be interested to know what, if anything, she remembers about the show and what she thinks of Star Trek now.

I don't have a big problem with "Meridian."  It's boring, but it's not outright offensive, so it's not among the worst Trek episodes of all time.  And it's not even 100% predictable, since as you mentioned one would EXPECT the creepy male love-interest to be hiding a dark secret.  But thankfully he isn't, because

Well, they get closer later with "Rejoined", but yes, Rick Berman was notably cowardly in that regard.  I blame him almost exclusively for it, based on an interview he gave to startrek.com a year or so ago.  I think if Gene had lived we would have seen a gay character in DS9 or Voyager.

I also don't tend to like them, but I don't know if it's for the same reason.  I just think the whole "trying to find yourself" trope doesn't do much for me.  Not sure why…

The ending of "The Abandoned" is surprisingly and appropriately cynical, which is a description that applies to many of the greatest DS9 episodes.  I don't think this is one of the greatest episodes of the series by any means, but I did like the fact that Odo was unable to come to much of an understanding with the

Well, you'll still be surprised, he didn't describe the situation fully or accurately. :)

I saw The Last Unicorn long after DS9, but I actually saw M*A*S*H very early in life so I sometimes think of that when I see him.

LOL, that's a good observation.  I wouldn't say it creeps me out, because it seems like an awesome route to virtual immortality, but it's still a nice connection.

One of the laugh-out-loud funniest moments in all Trek, to me, is when Quark is describing his findings and Gowron is looking at the figures with a perfect blend of bafflement/horror/disgust.  Only Robert O'Reilly could have nailed that look so well.  It's one of my favorite episodes, for all the reasons mentioned in
