We get it, the show doesn't work for you. In fact, somehow, it rubs you the wrong way to the point of finding it humorous and looking forward to where the story is going yet you still feel like it's a C- kinda show. This is fine, it's a subjective opinion. My subjective opinion is that it's the only laugh out loud

The Nerdist would be better if Hardwick kept playing the affable host and quit trying to make jokes. That is where his strength lies. He summed it up best himself during the Attell interview, over the hour claiming he is not a great joke writer, a great sketch writer, or someone who his good at making personal stories

Was Apocalypse Now too obvious of an answer? Heart Of Darkness is not only one of the best documentaries ever but also reveals one of films great backstories.

But I was looking forward to Dexter narrowly escaping the intuitions of his co-workers while foiling the master plan of the diabolical serial killing duo of Steve Guttenburg and Jamie Kennedy!

Agreed. The way Ebert both adores film and captures the context of why he does without trying too hard or being clumsy about it has been an inspiration to me. As far as King, I enjoy some of his views (and his book on writing) but his recent TCM special confirms the bizarre news that he prefers the film Cujo over The

I brought up the idea as an interesting thematic notion that would fit in with the direction the show is heading. It's probably not heading that way but I think it would work and be interesting if it did. Looking at it the other way, the forethought Gus would need to bug Jesse, steal a poisoned cigg, poison Brock, and

Remorse or not, Walt is on the story arc of becoming completely ruthless. It started with killed or be killed, went to letting Jesse's girl die to protect himself, went to physically running over criminals, and now now this would be the fully crossed over line heading into a final showdown where Jesse for once is in

Again, I have faith in the writers subverting expectations, as I've pointed out in every single post. If we are talking an episode to episode basis than this one took a bit of the "wtf" off the table. Again, I'm sure sure it will be subverted but a bit of momentum of randomness was lost for me. As far as last season,

The issue is not that things are coming together its that after those  anything could happen moments things are a bit more status quo, such as Walt and Jesse back on the same team trying to take out Gus. Of course the writers have thrived on subverting expectations so I'm looking forward to a great finale, but I

No, but the arc of the story thus far keeps pushing him further towards becoming someone who is as morally indifferent as Gus.

I posted the same same theory a little while ago, so high fives all around. Though I posited that Walter actually did use ricin thus making the arc towards become a Gus-like figure complete and setting the final season up for the ultimate Jesse Vs Walt showdown.

Walt is self-preserving, which includes protecting his family. Of course Gus would be willing to kill Brock, but the forethought needed to know that doing so would make Jesse go murder Walt rang a bit false with me. Regardless, it was a theory that clicked with me, not an actual prediction I would put money on.

My batshit crazy resolution to this season: Walt and Jesse finally take out Gus. In the final scene we discover that Walt actually did do the poisoning, knowing that he could bring up Gus' history of using children to ultimately get Jesse back on his side, and completing his transformation into a Gus like figure.

Not to get into grade semantics but as someone who found the past few episodes to be solid A's, I found this one to be a small step down. I had two big issues with it. First, it took some of the unpredictability off the table, and simply put all the pieces in place for the finale. I'm sure the finale will subvert

hey noel…
didn't you comment on a post a few weeks ago about what a difficult interview Will Oldham was and we would all see soon? Cause that looked like a pretty straight forward, insightful interview.

i thought 'it' was my own personal answer to this question but apparently not.

its comment threads like these that make me think the comments around here will turn into Aint It Cool News in about six months.
