I knew someone who had written a script for TNG (of his own accord) and was trying to get it submitted…he was able to talk to a couple of writers who had worked for the show. He was told to replace his "solution" at the end with "Yes, that would do it - we'll just the !". Apparently that was the way that all scripts

How does BR play to someone who watches it for the first time today?
I get a lot of flack for this but I don't think that Blade Runner is a great film. A good film, but not a great one. I remember how amazing it seemed when it first came out - part of it was the ideas of the production design, part of it was the

Sean Young is indeed still a babe:

One of the ways I judge how "right" they get time periods is by how understated everything looks.

Ah, the MPAA, always protecting kids from the language they use every day in the schoolyard…

Pugs Malone, that was the best laugh I've had all week. Much thanks.

Apparently, it is *not* not a problem.

Why do fans of Community despise Glee?

Yep, great funny ep. Lea Michelle was hilarious, and even more important she was charming and adorable. And I thought this was the perfect use of Sue - drop a couple snark bombs, give her a great visual gag, remind everyone she's the villian, and then get her out of there.

I can't believe that I spelled Strahovski's name Strahovsky, especially considering one of my favourite jokes from high school:

Bias, like luck, can go both ways.

Seriously? This is a D?
My understanding of the rating system is that an F is for something so inept, so ludicrously incompetent that you howl with laughter at its sheer awfulwness which begins to wrap it around to it being enjoyable. And a D is that same thing without the enjoyableness.

What amazes me is how every year they say the Oscars are too long (going back to the 80's when I started watching) yet they never fix it. Umm, just announce the nominees and give out the awards, people. Simple as that. I mean, 5 nominated songs x average 4 minutes each (plus intros and applause) was about a half hour

While Darmok and Midnight are not similar plot-wise, there is a key similarity.

Funniest backstage comment I ever heard about TNG: One of the producers commenting on Picard's casual shirt in Darmok and saying "Yeah, I don't know why we thought Picard would get Wesley's hand-me-downs".

Well said, Spicoli.

I have to finally jump on the "I really disagree with this review" bandwagon…
I often see reviews that I agree with, and when I see a review that I disagree with I generally think "Okay, we agree to disagree". After having read all the comments on the Chuck thread about whether or not people "get" the show as opposed

Well, this is California where wannabe actresses named Jill spell it Jylle…

Just watched this episode today
…and I don't think it was a D. I'd give it a C, but then that's because I'm grading this as an ep and not the personification of all the changes to the show that I didn't like.
