Not sure if the lack of replies is due to the Grey Screen of Blank that has been coming up in place of this review for the last few days. I can finally see this page in Google Chrome but it (and several other pages) are still just blank in IE.

Even as a Bond-crazy 13 year-old I could never make it all the way through a Roger Moore film. They would show Bond films about once every month or two on TV and it was always a huge disappointment when it was a Moore one. Then I'd have to wait even longer for a *real* Bond film!
My personal opinion is that acting classes and workshops can teach you the mechanics of acting, and how to build the framework of a performance. They can also teach you to tap your experiences and emotions to connect to the character or situation. But if someone is unable to deliver a line in a naturalistic or…
Lazenby had a natural affability and easy charm about him which made him much more human. He was embarrassingly wooden in some scenes but then very good in others. His Bond also had the great trait of never hesitating for a second during any action scene; he just threw himself into it. Craig's Bond does the same which…
I agree with Emperor Jim about Roger Moore never doing anything as cool. Largely because when Roger Moore did something, it was immediately rendered not cool. Wincing and shutting his eyes every time he fires a gun and running like a girl? Yeesh.
A co-worker of mine complained about the "Quantum of Solace" title but once he understood that it meant "the smallest possible measure of comfort" he thought it was really cool. The problem with the title is that solace is understood by some people (moreso in Canada and the UK than in the US) but most people seem to…
One of the (many) pleasant surprises of the episode was what a great impression both Amelia and (?) Amy Pond made. The young actress was great and the fact that she's Karen Gillan's cousin was the icing on top. I loved Gillan's performance and her extremely expressive eyes. I'm quite curious to see if the character is…

Says it all, doesn't it? $30 million opening at least.
Actually, Rufus might be able to arrange for you to see that one coming.
But is it better than Hercules?
Love the Xanadu-ish special effexts:
"a slow-motion sequence which is not homoerotic in any way at all…"
Well, the sails of their ship do look very much like a big pride flag…
Yes, by all means bump it up. The show exudes a cool that has never been matched. And the the 60's retro stylishness, to boot.
I always wondered how replicators would affect the need for money. Anything you could want could be made in an instant with a replicator, and energy seemed to be abundant and almost free…or were replicators only used on Federation ships and Bases?
@ S.Jerusalem
I'd say that Raiders was greatness of a kind not often experienced in theatres, but I do agree that the three sequels were not as far apart in quality from each other as they were from the first film. I mean, jumping hundreds of feet from a plane in a raft? Guys hearts being ripped out? Rollercoaster mine tracks that…
Matt Smith/Daniel Craig comparison
I was blown away by Matt Smith's turn in The Eleventh Hour and I thought there's a fair comparison to be made between him and Daniel Craig. Both inherited iconic British roles after extremely popular stars. Both were debuting right after another actor took their series to new heights…
@ Joey Stink I don't think it's *Wang* Chian…
Blink was pretty overt about what makes New Who great - RTD and his writers (especially Moffat) had a great understanding about what kids like and/or are frightened by.
Best prop improvisation on the British version of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" was a large sheet of bubble wrap:
The closest situation of a big star coming out, that I can think of, would be Richard Chamberlain. People forget what a big deal he was in the 70's and early 80's. But he waited until well past his stardom (I mean, guesting on Hustle!) before he came out. The other huge star being Rock Hudson, and not only was that…
