The Daleks have always had trouble remaining consistently scary. Even in the 70s, the were seen as tired and in need of a reboot, which is why they did Genesis of the Daleks. I thought Dalek in 2005 did a great job, and I had high hopes for them. Then we got Daleks in Manhattan a couple of years later. Bleah.

Hmm…. well, she could still be pulling music in from the iPod she left on board her ship (Bluetooth etc). As for her human voice… well, if she's mentally projecting or whatever, I suppose her voice would sound like whatever she wanted it to sound like? She subconsciously set up a voice filter to transform her Dalek…
