Great Eli season or greatest Eli season? Kalinda was adorable in her scenes with Cary. Panjabi really sold the subtle emotional elements, a sincerity of affection underneath layers of both calculation and uncertainty. And that guest star looked strangely like he could be a relative of Ben Stiller.

I've read that too in past interviews and he may simply want to end it, I agree but we'll see.

I'd agree with that. It may or may not be public negotiating but would probably be for the best if it didn't drag on to 10 seasons anyway.

He can play a former high school teacher of Boyd and Raylan's who has become a local crime kingpin in recent years.

This is just public negotiating. In Hollywood when someone says they are done with a character/series/movie franchise etc, what they usually mean is show me the money.

Or from the Lost pitch meetings: "He's a down on his luck southern guy who wants to escape on a raft." "Don't tell me he's called Huck." "Nope. Sawyer." "Now that's creativity, you're hired!"

He has a computer in his head. And most people just have one in their pocket. This guy can save a whole 15 seconds in looking things up! There's an idea to build a show around.

Well my biases are that Kevin Corrigan is my favorite guest star in past episodes and I was a huge BB fan and I find Nicholas Cage jokes funny….

I thought it was my tv and kept adjusting my set for a while.

The second episode was the funniest of the series so far for me. And I like how the pacing and editing seems a little snappier.

Ted Kissell has an awesomely insightful article on Dr Who and the writing, over at The Atlantic. Title: "The Captain Kirk Problem: How Doctor Who Betrayed Matt Smith"

If Orla Brady had been cast as River Song I'd have enjoyed the Smith era a lot more. She might even have made a good Doctor. She's just timelessly awesome.

My sense has been that American female fans were way more into Tennant than Smith. The reactions I see to Capaldi are interesting. He doesn't make hearts swoon but they seem to like that companions will probably be a few years older than they have been lately and that things will get a bit more adult.

They can't even write good, frequent stuff for Cece. I'm not sure how they'll handle another new actress.

An ode to avclub caption writers…

Add to the list: almost everyone on the series Mom.

Neither. Just ordinary scathing mockery.

I can't wait to turn the pages. I'm not sure yet what I'll turn them into.

The Fuck Yeah Jonas Salk tumblr is all about shipping him with Louis Pasteur.

Loved Borgen. I'd also recommend The Strange Calls, an Australian series on Hulu. For those of you who started The Wrong Mans but didn't finish, it got a lot better towards the end.
