Oh I understand that feeling alright. I haven't seen any of his stuff in a good 10-15 years. Time to revisit some of it with an older and hopefully wiser set of eyes.

The problem is that he celebrates funky mom and pop dives on his show; but then does advertisements for the kind of place that's putting funky mom and pop dives out of business.

There is absolutely nothing sympathetic about her supposedly being "pushed" into the national spotlight. Her narcissism is only matched by her vapid stupidity.

Cronenberg's work
I very much appreciate his craft and his whack-as-fuck vision; but his stuff just disturbs me way too much. It stays with me for too long. Even his more mainstream stuff like The Fly has a subversive, sick air to it that only Cronenberg can bring to the table. Rrreeeaaaaaly gets under my skin.
