It was not great. Second only to working at Kohl's, who played nothing but Shania Twain, Leann Rimes and bullshit easy listening oldies like "Tears of a Clown."

But I think that's exactly the point (and mind you, this is an opinion coming from someone who grew up in the '90s and mainly avoided classic rock so it was never overplayed to me) - This music has mainly been either rotting in landfills or relegated to XM Classic Rock stations that when it gets taken out and placed…
And 15 haunting piano covers of formerly joyful pop songs.
I worked at Chipotle for a spell and it gets even worse when its rotation of hip indie songs slips into Spanish covers of Journey and Phil Collins songs.
I don't think anyone's saying Gunn is breaking new ground. He's just doing consummate job of using music correctly in the movie, as opposed to something like "Suicide Squad" which does the exact opposite.
I don't think either soundtrack have used painfully overplayed songs like the ones you mentioned. They're mostly pretty decent older songs that have kind of fallen out of the oldies/classic rock radio.
It gets a pass for inspiring a better song - Tina Fey's "Night Cheese."
It helps that James Gunn has more of a love for weirder stuff that fits well with "Guardians." Gore Verbinski just continues to prove that he's not a very talented director.
For as much of a mess as MTV is, VH1 is like a toxic wasteland of nothingness. They scrapped all things music-related and basically became a marathon of '90s movies, "Love and Hip-Hop" and several other reality shows. I will say I'm kind of salty about it because they get rid of their Top 20 show, which I always…
Korn will still be in the Korn spot.
I thought he gained a fair amount of weight that he lost. Not quite as skinny as he was like 5 years ago.
To be fair, that was the weirdest episode of the entire season. I loved it, but I could see it being pretty polarizing.
Good lord.
I would tend to agree with you if this was season 1, but it improved exponentially since then. It seems like you missed the point of S2 because you were too busy being mad at it.
It's fun, much like the last three. But Theron is a waste in this, sadly. But Statham is fucking great, so you know, Take the good with the bad.
Yeah, it makes me wonder how Pete feels about it now, as he was kind of trying to pull these crazy drug stories out of him.
I love when they're talking "Achtung Baby" and he just gives up trying to convince that some people just aren't into it and basically says "You convinced me. It's great! They're the best band ever!"
It makes me sad to think how awesome it would be to see him evolve comedically and interact with CBB faves like Thomas Middleditch. Like many, I miss him a lot. He was such a unique comedic voice that really can't be duplicated
Fair enough, bad word choice on my part.
Let's not forget "Heroes," gentlemen!
