My guess is it's all about the extra revenue. I imagine advertisers would be more likely to dole out the big bucks if it's on a cable channel rather than HBO or something they could skip over on Youtube. That's just my completely uneducated, speculative guess.

I imagine it's pretty malleable. He probably had his main jokes cemented and is allowing for space in-between for more recent stuff, like when people like Michael Caine say dumb shit.

They at least nominated "Selma," but didn't nominate Oyelowo, who gave one of the best performances of the decade. But no, let's nominate Steve Carell with a prosthetic nose.

Your dad sounds like a really cool fella.

I would love an "X-Files"/"Fringe" cross-over.

That is correct. I'd say the majority of his fans got into him as a kid and have stuck with him to some degree since then. I couldn't imagine trying to get into his music as an adult.

I agree. I think he's an incredibly talented guy and I probably listened to "Bad Haircut" and "Running With Scissors" a ton as a kid, but it's nothing that I keep in rotation.

I enjoy the podcast way more than I do the show, probably because I like the characters being left to the listener's imagination rather than being right there.

I bet dollars to donuts that him and Chappelle are helping Rock write jokes for the Oscars.

Spoiler: It will be a gritty prequel.

She's still not as infantilized as Ariana Grande.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but she does have lupus.

I thought they were reprising that court sketch with the one they did last night. Alas, they did not. Probably for the best, as that Eli Manning one was hilarious.

That's the thing that really takes the wind out of this - it doesn't include streaming. In the past 18 months, just about anything that's a hit with the kids is automatically going to be streamed way more than it's going to be bought, unless it's Adele or Taylor Swift and they're keeping it off of that platform.

That was when I knew the character was never going to be redeemable because the writers thought they were winning people over with this "celebratory" scene when it was really a showcase of two assholes ruining another person's life without any reservations.

The problem with "The Office" and Pam is they were too gunshy to cause friction with her and Jim. They clearly wanted her to have big problems with the distance between her and Jim when she went to art school and they briefly introduced Other Male Art Student only to completely pull back from that and wait to visit it

Counterpoint: Creed was always fun and never overused.

The only good thing about the Andy years was the episode where Pam visits another office and Bob Odenkirk was Michael Scott II. It was so clear that he should have been the replacement.

My mom recently re-watched the series and was struck by idea of making Andy the new manager as weird, mainly because he was never presented to the audience as a likable character or even remotely good-hearted (Michael was selfish, but in the end, cared about others).

Every time Gayle shows up, it's customary for my girlfriend to say "I hate Gayle."
