I seriously love Dawes. "From a Window Seat" initially threw me off (It's kind of Steely Dan meets Dire Straits), but it really grew on me.

It's weird - I was really close with my sister as a kid, but we never did matching costumes. People love matching costumes!

Matt Walsh is consistently excellent, too.

Does he break into a sexy R&B number at any point?

I feel like 30 Rock has been unjustly forgotten. That last season was a treasure.

Mmm, Adam Pally and Chris Pratt. Sorry, what?

Top of the Lake kinda got screwed by going up against Behind the Candelabra, because it really is amazing. Not saying Candelabra isn't since I haven't seen it yet, though.

I didn't say he was better, I said he sounded like him on this album.

Cool story, bro MICHAEL SHANNON EDITION:

Surely it's more Nick Drake-mode?

To be fair: it's a pretty accurate term

Don't watch the British version either, then.

My bartender is terrible!

Oh, if they do "Kinda LikeSong", I'd enjoy talking about how I unenthusiastically enjoy Jason Mraz b-sides.

Berberian Sound Studio feels like it could turn into a giallo at any moment, though. It has that otherworldly quality that the best giallo films have.

I'd watch Man of Steel reshot starring Toby Jones.

So is Shadow Dancer any good? The preview really inspired me to see it, but I read a rather nasty review of it a couple days back. Any AV Clubbers watched it yet?

I like the song, but this is a really funny Hatesong. Kudos, Al Madrigal!

They can be compared, in that House of Cards is better?

I thought Spacey was a delight (he had the same balance of jovial asides and menace as Richardson in the English series), but Kate Mara was a black hole of charisma.
