Princess Mononoke is probably the earlier film I remember adoring that I still love. Saw it when I was eight or nine, the violence was a little disturbing but ultimately worth it.

It was that wholly unnecessary Prime Suspect reboot. It was pretty lame.
Hey! People of the AV Club! Since TV's all on our minds today, why don't y'all share your ideas on how you'd run a television network? I'm kind of curious, because I figure an AV Club run network might do slightly better than NBC. Slightly.
Dennis "OH HE'S IN THIS? THAT'S OKAY" Quaid!
I guess it's a little more understandable to be upset if your SO was to say "Boy, I'd love to bang [mutual friend, relative or former babysitter]", but celebrities? Don't all couples make up celebrity banglists together? Because they totally should.
@olivececile:disqus It requires time, sure, but people who should be "sympathetic" to the cause don't get a free pass on saying hateful shit about trans people. Trans-Exclusionary Feminists should absolutely know better than to attack trans people.
Oh my yes, there is lots of bullshit coming from gay men and lesbians about trans people (also: bisexuals are weirdly hated. I can't tell you how many dating profiles I've seen with 'no bi guys please").
That's a man who gets stuff done. How did you guys not elect him!
Steve King was my representative when I lived in the US! Fun fact: he is the worst
I thought the more common complaint was they made April too nice this season.
Retta live-tweeting stuff I don't care about is surprisingly entertaining. And her smacking down idiots on Twitter is even better.
TV is depressingly hostile to trans people, even shows I adore seem to always go for the cheap "tranny" joke.
I refuse to believe that Bill Pullman would sleepwalk through a part! This is BILL "ACTION TIME" PULLMAN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT!
Canada has some of the worst drunk driving stats worldwide, too! Maybe people get too drunk after enjoying a film by one of our many internationally respected filmmakers, I'm not sure.
@avclub-3bca94e353e508c1a49bf984fc5c346d:disqus : Sandra Bullock falling down the stairs in Crash brings a tear to any patriotic Canadian's eye.
Benjamin Britten's Billy Budd (holy alliteration!) opera is absolutely fantastic, one of the best 20th century operas.
It's the best looking show on network television, and it's like that from the very start. The writing/character dynamics take a couple episodes to build, but they get there and it's fantastic.
MUBI is a fantastic site for film analysis though. But…yes, that's an awful name.
It's Jill "I Have an Identical Twin" Hennessy, who I was so excited to see on Luck.
If we're completely fucking around with timelines, I'd want Ben Stone as ADA and McCoy as DA. Because wouldn't it be fun to see them sparring?
