I'm acquainted with Dave's son Matt (an excellent cellist and composer in his own right), and I haven't heard a single thing about Dave Brubeck that didn't show him off in an exemplary light. Brubeck was instrumental in developing new directions in cool jazz, as well as reinvigorating the jazz
