Yup. I've commented on this before, but the AV Club's obits are up there with the NY Times', in my opinion. They're honest yet heart felt, avoid being maudlin or trite. Beautiful job, as always.

Agreed on the aesthetic of Prometheus; I thought that the 3D was stunning.
But why would he have to interview people like that? Couldn't he choose more interesting guests?
Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. This looks pretty good. I'm hoping that it is, and doesn't devolve into a generic space-shoot-em-up.
Well, it's a spectacle … which I like from time to time (U2 is my favorite band).
Huh - I've never seen another film by Schrader. I didn't know these were motifs in his films.
I second Keller's suggestion. I like Anderson Cooper, but I like Keller's suggested format more. As much as I enjoy Fallon, I feel like network late-night has become the sole province of comedy … and whatever we call what Leno does. I'd love an hour of good conversation, ala Charlie Rose or Conan's Serious…
Very good movie. Kinnear just nails that role.
… probably because they put on an awesome show. Yes, tickets are insanely overpriced, but they far from phone it in. Live cuts from the shows from the last couple of tours that I've heard sounded terrific, and the set lists featured lesser played songs along with the old war horses.
Can't speak to that, but his solo/acoustic/live album is terrific. And the new Soundgraden album is pretty terrific, too.
The Outdoor Type is one of my favorite songs, period. Lovely melody, clever lyrics, nicely sung …
Laid was the hit, but the rest of that album is so, so good.
All good points … but again, I think that they're from a 21st Century perspective. Would someone who has essentially been brainwashed by Christianity suddenly question everything he knows when confronted by these non-believers?
Or maybe I'm looking at it from the wrong perspective. The idea of being taken slave and…
I think the relationship between Athelstan and Ragnar has the potential to become much more interesting that the antagonism between the earl and Ragnar that this show was presumably built upon … but it really needs some better definition. Athelstan really took the slaughter of everyone he knew and lived with in…
Considering many people still, in this day and age, believe the Bible literally, I'd say that an 8th century monk would see the Bible as history, not allegory.
Didn't she bang on publicly about wanting to be Catwoman in Batman Returns? Or am I confused here?
Brian Doyle-Murray or gtfo …
"[W]orking in tandem with Rolling Stone" … spoiler alert: every episode ends with Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band being crowned as the greatest album of all time … and that episode usually runs four or five times a year.
The Holy Trinity right there, in my opinion.
Absolutely. This show reminds me a bit of Death of a Salesman - "A show/play about businessmen? Doing their jobs? Sadly? No thank you …" The premise seems boring, to be honest … but the dazzling genius is in the drama that is mined from these seemingly pedestrian stories.
